Version 1 of the Gym Management application had been running successfully for 5 years. And there was no reason for it not to continue running. But, the owner of Dynamics Fitness had a bigger vision and decided on a new app. Version 2 could be installed on any member’s phone, as well as used in the gym locations. With this version, users could sign in to classes from their phones, make payments in app for gym services, and much more. This app includes the trainer and admin functionalities of the old app (with some updates), but was created for the convenience of members.

After installing the app, users are presented with a simple setup process.
If you are an existing gym member, you simple sign in with the credentials you created with the old app or online. Once logged each member can look at punch card purchase history, their class attendance/participation, purchase more punches, etc.
New members go through a profile setup, adding basic information, emergency contact information, and signing the waiver. Once this is complete, they have all the same feature functionality as existing users (membership is free).
This app can be installed on each member’s phone. This means that members can now monitor and manage all aspects of their membership right on their device. One of the primary goals of this app was to allow users to sign into classes without the need to stand in line at the gym’s iPad kiosk. So, on the app, the two main menu options are “Class Sign-In” and “Single Class Payment” – the second option is for those that do not wish to purchase punch cards.
After tapping the sign-in menu item (or paying for a single class), members are presented with the classes available within 20 minutes of their arrival. Also, in settings, the member can choose the ‘auto sign-in’ feature. This uses the phones GPS along with the gym’s wi-fi network to automatically log the user into their class.
The new application includes in app purchases/payments. Members can purchase additional punches for their workout punch card, pay for individual classes they would like to participate in, or apply a coupon to a class they are about to take.
